SEO Web Design

There are three critical aspects to designing an optimized website: search engine friendliness, usability, and aesthetics.

Search Engine Friendliness

People often focus on the surface of the website. But in SEO terms, the most important aspect of web design is what’s going on behind the scenes–in the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code.

Why? Because a search engine spider can’t “see” your website. It can only read the underlying code. Design elements like Flash, frames, fancy menus, and JavaScript may give a site an impressive look, but if not implemented correctly, they can make it difficult or even impossible for search engine spiders to index your site.

And if the search engines can’t index your site, then you’re not going to appear in the search rankings! That’s why I make site design and “spiderability” a top priority when designing or optimizing any website.

Usability and On Page Factors

Once I’ve dealt with all of the technical issues of a website, it’s time to optimize the content. Part of any SEO work that I do for you will involve the critical work of optimizing the title tags, header tags, and the content of your site.

In additon to making sure your site content is fresh and relavant, I’ll focus on making your site easier to use for your visitors, which will lead to higher conversion rates for your visitors.

Site Aesthetics

Wait a minute! What about the actual appearance of my website? Isn’t that important too? Yes it is. Your website says a lot about who you are personally and what your business is about. Your website is an essential part of your brand.

A website does not have to dazzle to be effective, but it should look professional. With so many customers beginning their search for services on the web, your website will probably be responsible for making the first impression on a potential customer.
